The North Norfolk Coast with its miles of  beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the Sea is only a short drive away.

 

The traditional seaside towns of Hunstanton and Cromer are both about 45 mins away and offer everything you would expect including a Pier and also theatres with a large choice of great year round entertainment. There are also theatres and a large number of museums in both Norwich and Kings Lynn with something to suit everyone whatever your interests maybe.

 

The lovely towns of Holt and Burnham Market offer the discerning shopper something a little different with a large variety of individual shops and galleries to choose from and an abundance of lovely little tearooms and pubs to sustain you whilst you shop.

 

Various Stately Homes including Holkham Hall with its House, Deer Park ,Bygones Museum ,Pottery shop and tearoom as well as several other shops, an estate village and pub and of course the spectacular beach make this a must for anyone visiting the area. Also Houghton Hall again with lovely grounds and interesting collections of model soldiers is somewhere else not to be missed.  Beautiful Sandringham House the Queens Norfolk home is always a hit with the visitors and includes the House, Grounds, Church and  a lovely shop for all those souvenirs. There is also a restaurant and beautiful woodland walks through the estate.

 

National Trust and English Heritage properties abound with Blickling Hall, Oxburgh Hall and Felbrigg Hall all an easy drive away .

English Heritage properties in the area include the beautiful Priory and ruined castle at Castle Acre a pretty  village only 5 miles away again with teashops and pubs this village is a lovely spot to visit. There is also the flint mines at Grimes Graves a very important archeological site, well worth a visit and why not take one of the many walks through  Thetford Forest whilst you are in the area.

 

For shopaholics there is the lovely old city of Norwich with its many individual shops, a covered market and 2 shopping malls, as well as many places of interest including Norwich Castle, the River with its boat trips and of course the stunning Cathedral with its magnificent ceiling.

 

The Norfolk Broads can be reached in about an hour where you can hire a boat or take one of the many boat trips available daily to see the spectacular flora and fauna which is unique to the area or you may want to visit one or more of the many Nature Reserves in the area one of the most famous being Pensthorpe  Nature  Reserve where the BBC's  ‘Springwatch’ is filmed. This is only 15 mins away and is a must at any time of year.

 

The Thursford Collection is also only 15-20 mins away  and is a wonderful and interesting collection of old steam organs and much more .Well worth a visit for their Christmas Spectacular.
